Globalstor’s TransPro II Wins NAB Award for Innovation in Media

Software Maximizes Workflow, Minimizes Expensive FlexLM Licenses

CHATSWORTH, CA April 15, 2003:

Globalstor Data Corporation announced today that its new TransPro II™ Digital Dailies Solution was awarded one of the first NAB Awards for Innovation in Media (AIMs), an annual technology awards program launched for the first time at NAB2003. The TransPro II was developed to save broadcast and film professionals valuable video production time and money by burning daily "takes" or "rough cuts" directly to industry standard DVD-R media for convenient, view-anywhere, random access to the day’s shoot. As one of the five companies receiving the highest number of attendee votes in the Content Creation category, Globalstor received AIM recognition for its TransPro II product on Wednesday, April 9 at the NAB Technology Luncheon held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"The NAB extends its sincere congratulations to the 2003 AIM winners," said NAB President and CEO Edward O. Fritts. "The NAB Exhibition is the leading source of new product announcements in the global broadcast technology marketplace. Given that hundreds of new products are launched at NAB each year, this recognition is truly an honor. We’re thankful for all of the attendees who took the time to recognize the companies who are setting the pace in electronic media technology."

The top five products within each of the Creation, Content Management, and Content Delivery categories received recognition with a 2003 AIM. Three of these products will receive additional recognition when a judging panel composed of key industry editors reviews the AIM-winning technologies to select an overall winner within each product category. The 2003 Editor’s Choice Award winners will be announced on Thursday, April 17.

"Winning one of the first NAB AIMs awards is very exciting for us," said Scott Leif, President of Globalstor Data Corp.  "Because this award is based on attendee votes, there is an extra measure of validation and satisfaction for us.  TransPro II was carefully designed around the wants and needs of the broadcast and video professional to provide them with a real-time encoding and dailies creation solution that easily and automatically integrates a full functioned DVD menu with up to 99 chapter points that is automatically created from an Edit Decision list. The completed dailies is then quickly burned to inexpensive, industry-standard DVD-R media giving directors direct immediate access to the scene or take of their choice with a click of a button on the DVD players’ remote control."

NAB2003 took place April 5 – 10 in Las Vegas, exhibits opened on April 7. The NAB spring convention is the world’s largest electronic media show covering the development, delivery and management of professional video and audio content across all mediums.
