Globalstor’s TransPro II Drives Down Dailies Costs/Production Time

DVD-R Give Turnkey Solution Industry’s Broadest Viewing Capability

LAS VEGAS, NV April 7, 2003:

Expanding their support for a broad range of digital video applications for the broadcast and video industries, Globalstor Data Corporation introduced the TransPro II ® Digital Dailies Solution today to NAB attendees. The TransPro II saves valuable video production time and money, enabling film professionals to burn daily “takes” or “rough cuts” directly to industry standard DVD-R media for convenient, view-anywhere, random access to the day’s shoot, making dailies production fast, easy and more budget-friendly.  Beyond dailies creation, TransPro II is also ideal for video streaming production as well as long-term video archival.

Globalstor’s TransPro II incorporates EDL files including Ale, Flex and FTL to provide automated deck control and automatic menu and chapter point creation for easy navigation and fast access to the video content.  Additional flex file support can be added through the incorporation of additional plug-ins. Using inexpensive, convenient, view-anywhere, DVD-R discs, video professionals have immediate, random access to the day’s shoot, making dailies production faster, easier and more budget-friendly than traditional dailies.  The high quality image and sound files can be reviewed using any standard DVD-enabled desktop computer; notebook or DVD set top box.

"With TransPro II, we’re able to offer a truly economical video production tool without compromising performance or reliability," said Scott Leif, President of Globalstor Data Corp.  "It seamlessly blends the creative and performance features that today’s high-end users demand, without being so complex or cost-prohibitive that a mid-range corporation couldn’t integrate it into their video requirements."

A clear improvement over earlier generation, tape-based solutions, TransPro II offers realtime, direct to DVD encoding, a source preview/confidence check window and frame accuracy within 1/2 of a second.  Incorporating the TransPro II into the production process ensures high-, film comparable-resolution for both images and audio tracks incorporating professional-quality sound giving editors the freedom to scroll with single frame accuracy, to any desired scene and take, for rapid creation of editor rough-cuts.

NTSC and PAL compatible, the TransPro II is configured with a Pentium 4 and 512MB RAM running Windows 2000 Pro.  An IDE-based 80GB hard drive and a high performance 4X DVD-R drive ensures, quick project turnaround as well as the ease-of-use and application flexibility. The TransPro II includes a 17" LCD/flat panel monitor (touch screen optional) with a matching keyboard and mouse.

The TransPro II imports both time code and chapter points with scene and take information of any associated dailies video and creates a DVD-R disc with complete, random access, DVD menu control to as many as 99 chapters. The TransPro II can also be used to store a copy of the DVD image on the hard drive that can be recalled at anytime to burn additional DVD copies, or for archival purposes.

Globalstor Data’s TransPro II will be demonstrated at Globalstor’s Booth #SU6015 during NAB April 7th through 10th, 2003, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
